Following last year’s successful debut, German Bionic will be at Deutscher Pflegetag 2024 again on November 7th and 8th at Berlin’s hub27. With over 9,000 attendees expected—ranging from frontline nursing professionals to hospital leaders and policymakers—this event stands as Germany’s most significant gathering for healthcare professionals in the nursing and care sphere. Germany's Federal Minister for Health, Karl Lauterbach from the Bundesministerium für Gesundheit, will also be in attendance at the two-day event, underscoring the critical focus on improving conditions for the nation’s healthcare workforce.

Building on our recent showcase at the Digital Summit in Frankfurt, German Bionic will demonstrate how our Apogee+ e-exoskeleton is redefining support for careworkers. The innovative exosuit, developed with Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, one of Germany’s most renowned healthcare institutions, is already in deployment at care facilities nationwide. At Deutscher Pflegetag 2024, we’ll be offering hands-on trials, allowing attendees to experience firsthand how this human-centered technology eases the physical burden of nursing work during patient mobilization tasks.
➡︎ Human augmentation to support care workers and counter rising absentee rates
In light of rising absentee rates in physically demanding jobs – be they in industry or the healthcare sector, we’re presenting the Apogee+ as a part of the solution: One that helps protect and sustain the health of vital workers as well as making these jobs more appealing for younger workers. As Germany and many of its neighbors face a demographic shift and labor shortages, preventive technologies like the Apogee+, powered by advanced robotics and AI, have the potential to play a pivotal role in supporting a resilient healthcare workforce.
We look forward to meeting healthcare professionals, representative from the public sector as well as policymakers that are driving forward the vision of a healthier, more sustainable future in care. Join us at Deutscher Pflegetag to see how German Bionic is placing human well-being at the heart of innovation.
The German Bionic stand can be found in the main hall, Booth #56.
Update
Early in the morning, numerous caregivers, including a striking number of young people, took the opportunity to test the German Bionic Exoskelett Apogee+ live. Whether lifting, e.g. mobilising patients from a wheelchair or working in a bent over (forced) position – the Apogee+ was able to convince caregivers in particular that the wearable, which was specially developed for nursing professions, can noticeably reduce the workload in the strenuous everyday care routine.
