Unveiling the Apogee Exoskeleton: Redefining parcel handling with German Bionic and DPD Netherlands.
Ever wonder what advanced technology could achieve? The Apogee Exoskeleton, engineered by German Bionic may answer that question. Meticulously designed, this innovative robotics suit, currently being tested and refined by our team at DPD Netherlands, offers invaluable assistance in effortlessly handling parcels throughout the day, ensuring greater security, lessened fatigue and enhanced productivity.
Our team in the depot in Veenendaal has achieved impressive results in the past period with the use of exoskeletons. This innovation has proven itself with the following performances as a result:
💪 275,000 times lifted
🏋️♂️ More than 7 million kilos lifted together with the exoskeleton
🚶♂️ 1.7 million steps taken
⏱️ 1,221 operational hours
This initiative not only helps to reduce the physical strain on our team, but also contributes to a healthier and more sustainable working environment.
“The Apogee is the successor to the Cray X and is an improvement on all fronts. .... By using Apogee, DPD is investing in the mental and physical health of its employees.“
Thanks Otto van Esterik for sharing your behind-the-scenes insights on the recent delivery of the newest generation German Bionic e-exoskeletons at DPD Nederland.
I’m truly delighted to see how logistics companies like DPD are taking the health and well-being of their employees so seriously. They know that by incorporating our innovative exoskeleton technology into their processes, they are not only enhancing workplacesafety but are also making these jobs significantly more sustainable – and appealing. It’s a powerful step toward better workplaces with happier and healthier colleagues.
New generation EXO skeleton at DPD
Last week was marked by the delivery of the new generation EXO Skeleton “Apogee” from German Bionics. An instructor from German Bionics also gave a train-the-trainer course. The Apogee is the successor to the Cray-x and is an improvement on all fronts. By reducing weight and size, it gives the user more freedom of movement.
Lifting and bending movements are supported in the thighs and back and only ergonomic lifting and bending movements are possible when using the Apogee.
By using Apogee, DPD is investing in the mental and physical health of its employees and hopes to keep it that way.
