The Future of Logistics – with Exoskeletons from German Bionic! In a recent article published by LOGISTIK HEUTE, one of Germany's leading logistics publications, the medical aid manufacturer medi GmbH & Co. KG describes how they are using exoskeletons to reduce the physical strain on their workforce and attract new employees.

No matter how often we receive it, it always remains inspiring to hear such positive feedback that confirms the tremendous impact our exoskeletons are having on shop floors around the world. They help make physically demanding jobs safer and easier to perform, allowing employees to finish their shifts with more energy, improving their quality of life both at work and at home.

In the article, Fabian Rauch, Warehouse Manager at medi, commented:

“I am absolutely convinced of the use of exoskeletons in logistics. We conducted extensive research into the technology and possibilities, testing several systems before deciding on a model that supports up to 30* kg in lifting movements, with additional walking assistance. Anyone at Medi who uses an exoskeleton is instructed and coached by a specially trained colleague. They guide users in efficient lifting, setting down loads, and moving them to fully optimize the exoskeleton’s support. And the feedback from the team has been extremely positive!”

The talk is, of course, about our German Bionic Apogee exosuit. And, since the interview, the Apogee has even more power: It now compensates for up to 36 kg per lifting movement thanks to the recent OTA software update. Being fully connected and with its ability to be updated at any time over-the-air, our devices always remain up to date – also helping to make them a future-proof investment.

It’s fantastic to see how our technology is being deployed at medi now too and how it is easing the workload and protect the long-term health of its employees.

Optimize our logistics processes and at the same time promote the well-being of our employees? That's possible at medi - now with the use of exoskeletons!
Every day, a large number of goods are delivered, sorted and shipped in our logistics. Now medi is using exoskeletons: These are attached to the upper body and legs, actively reinforce movements and compensate for up to 30* kilograms of weight. The supporting technology thus specifically relieves the back and joints, enables more ergonomic movement sequences and makes our employees' everyday work easier.

Health and efficiency in many work processes benefit from the support and relief. Sascha Bohne, Head of Corporate Health Management at medi, says: "Working in logistics puts a strain on the back. That's why we want to use the new technologies to make work more comfortable and healthier for our employees and to prevent back problems. The exoskeletons make it possible."

By investing in exoskeletons, we want to send a strong signal for innovative, efficient logistics - and at the same time send an appreciative signal to our employees. Because their satisfaction, health and safety are an important factor at medi in the spirit of "I feel better" - also for the company's success.
